The Rally Stallion
The Vision
The goal, or vision for The Rally Stallion is to bring it to the top step of the 2WD Class Canadian Rally Championship podium by the end of 2026 and perhaps even the some ARA podiums. Now this may sound ambitious, and it is, however, if you read the steps we've planned out to get there, you may realize its a very achievable goal.
The Rally Stallions Performance
If you're doubting the potential of The Rally Stallion allow me a moment to go over some of its features and capabilities.
-Engine: 3.7l V6, 305bhp, 280lb-ft
-Weight: 3,450lbs
-Power-to-weight ratio: 11.31lbs/hp
With the Performance Package equipped (Mustang GT Suspension, Brakes, 19" wheels/tires) the 2011 V6 Mustang is capable of pulling 0.96 Lateral Gs as reported by Road and Track. that number is higher than a modern Ford Fiesta ST, a Mazda MX5 and a BMW M3 from the same era.
I also have been testing the V6 Mustangs potential in Assetto Corsa, a very well known and renowned Racing Simulator. The testing has consisted of setting times in a 2020 R2 Ford Fiesta ST to compare to The Rally Stallion and it would appear that The Rally Stallion is about 0.750s per kilometer faster than the R2 Fiesta. I intend on holding a Rally Drivetrain Mastery Series on Assetto Corsa that will be open to the public to gather more data on the difference in pace. In an attempt to establish full transparency, I'd like to mention that The Rally Stallion in Assetto Corsa would be a very well built version of the car, that would be quite expensive outside the virtual world, but still cost less than an R2 Fiesta. on
The 4 Steps to Fulfill The Vision
Step: 1
Receive enough support to build the Rally Stallion into a mild but dominant Rallycross car.
Step: 2
Hone and prove my prowess behind the wheel of The Rally Stallion by winning the 2024 2WD Kitchener-Waterloo Rally Club Rallycross Championship.
Step: 3
Having proved mine and The Rally Stallions potential we will be hoping to receive enough support to build The Rally Stallion to CRC Spec.
Step: 4
Compete in the 2025 2WD CRC and gain as much experience as possible. It's unlikely The Rally Stallion will be ready to compete in the full 2025 CRC Season, if that is this case the plan would then be to participate in any of the rounds left in the championship that are close enough to go to. We would also ideally participate in some regional Performance Rally events to shake the car down and get as many Stage Kilometers under my belt as possible before the 2026 season.
Step: 4
By this point Project Dream Racing Team and The Rally Stallion will definitely be developed enough to fight for the 2026 2WD Canadian Rally Championship.
